architect - associate, founder

Already at a very young age his passion for drawing and painting was obvious. Starting at the age of twelve, during school holidays, he was an apprentice to art painter Eugène S. Peters, where he learned the skills of oil painting on canvas. Clear influences of the realistic surrealism were noticeable in his first paintings.

Growing up in the ancestral house, designed by Paul Schellekens - Atelier Vanhout & Schellekens, his interest in architecture was already fed. During his secondary school studies at St Joseph's College in Turnhout it soon became obvious that higher education in architecture was inevitable. During his secondary school studies he also developed his passion for computers. The first Apple Macintosh Plus stood at the origin.

In 1990 he started his higher studies in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Saint-Lucas in Brussels. In 1994 he graduated with distinction and was laureate UPA BUA Architecture Prize Willy Van Hove. Already at that time the graduation project "Zero Emission Zone" examined solutions using architecture for topical energy problems.

During and after his internship he refined his passion for architecture and engineering, including training in Judicial Expert Research, Energy performance & indoor climate, Passive Building and Property Calculation. In 2013 he also attended a training Spatial Project Management, to support his increasingly emerging and growing interest in large, complex spatial planning projects and their urban planning analysis.

In 2002 together with partner Luc Vanhout he put his weight behind the architectural bureau of the future. In 2004, AIM - Architects in Motion was born.
Meanwhile AIM has grown to become a leading architectural bureau in Flanders.

In recent years, his passion for design and drawing strongly predominate and he is now mainly occupied with concept and design
